Tesla Executive Communications

At Tesla, our go-to-market strategy often centered on large, splashy and heavily viewed events: for products, factories, AI updates and more. My role was to lead the development of our executive keynotes—including narrative, product marketing, creative, copywriting and executive coaching.

This was inclusive of every Tesla presentation given by Elon over the last four years (Cybertruck, Model S Plaid, AI Day 1 & 2, ‘Cyber Rodeo’, Berlin Gigafactory, Investor Day, etc.).

‘Cyber Rodeo’

“The biggest party anyone has ever seen.” At least, in Elon’s words. In 2022 we opened our new Gigafactory outside of Austin. It was the largest automotive factory in the world, the future home of Cybertruck and millions of Model Y’s.

We went big. For this event, we invited 15,000 VIPs, customers and investors to an all day music festival, manufacturing tour and event. My role was to develop Elon’s keynote presentation at the crescendo of the evening and personally prepare him. With thousands watching live in the audience, and millions more online, he walked out on stage.

‘AI Day’ 1 & 2

Boy, this one was technical. As much as Tesla is a car company, it’s also a software company. For AI Day 1 & 2, we looked to update the public on the latest and greatest changes to Autopilot, Dojo and Optimus/Tesla Bot. Paired with more than a dozen AI engineers and Elon himself, we parsed through incredibly technical content to tell a cogent story about where the company was at through a series of keynotes—leading to more than two hours worth of updates that established Tesla once again as a leader in the field.

‘Investor Day’

18 executives. 200 slides. 3 weeks notice. At Investor Day I was charged with leading the development of our largest keynote presentation yet from Elon and our other leaders across nearly every business function at Tesla. The breadth and depth of this content made it a logistical, creative and technical beast—requiring me and my team to jump from meeting to meeting to parse narratives from our executives and then bring them to life for the general public in a matter of weeks.
